I havent' completely decided what races and classes I'm allowing, but here's a few things to chew on as far as creation goes:
1. The character ECL for this campaign is 4. That means you can have any basic race or alternate race with level adjustment of up to +3. I'll have to approve any non-standard races you want to play.
2. Use a 28 point buy-in for your stats. If you don't know what that is, look in the DM guide or ask me.
3. Any non-standard spells, feats, etc. will have to be approved by me before you use them.
Let me know if you have any questions/comments.

I dont know if I agree with that system, it takes some of the fun for me out of the game. Rolling stats are fun, and I happen to get lucky a lot of the time to boot. But This just limits the possibly of being uber awesome all together... Its like putting a clamp on the cool gas nozzle.

another option is to simply increase the points to 32, which makes for more powerful characters and keeps everyone's stats about equal which is the biggest downfall of the standard roll method.
aside from that i have some questions: how many action points are we starting off with? also how do you want us to do hp? take average hp for each level (after 1st of course) or roll or what?

But This just limits the possibly of being uber awesome all together... Its like putting a clamp on the cool gas nozzle. The reason I chose 28 points is because this campaign is written for four players, and as it goes right now, we have six. I want you guys to be able to have fun and be challenged without me having to re-write the whole thing. If I up the points, then your stats will make the game too easy. If I let you roll, some people will end up with worse stats than they would've gotten with the buy-in and some will end up with grossly disproportionate ones that will throw the whole game off-balance.aside from that i have some questions: how many action points are we starting off with? also how do you want us to do hp? take average hp for each level (after 1st of course) or roll or what? Everyone will start out with 2 action points.
We will roll HP every time we level up. For the first level, take max and for 2-4 roll it. I'll probably have you roll the HP when I get everyone started on their char sheet in Fantasy Grounds, so I can watch. ;D

Well I guess I can see where you are coming from then. I mean I think we all remember Felgarr, the most grossly powerful monk I rolled in the last campaign. And if you dont then I would love to put his Character history up (with his stats) up, when all is possible. With 28 points we can have 14 14 12 12 12 12
So I guess I cant complain. The stats are still above average.

When calculating HP, take max for level one.
For levels 2-4, roll your HD twice, and take the higher score.
