Yoshies.
Yoshies are bipedal dinosaur like beings. They hail form the mythical Yoshie’s isle. Where once a year, all Yoshies return to, to mate and hatch eggs.
Personality
Loyal and obedient friends and some time steeds, Yoshies and kind and sometimes-wild creatures with a taste for unusual food.
Physical description
Yoshies are bipedal dinosaur like beings with two small hands with opposable thumbs. They have large heads and feat and their bodies are capable of supporting a rider. Yoshies have a rather unique physical adaptation: a long sticky tongue they can use as a melee weapon to attack, grab and swallow whole smaller creatures.
Most yoshies are green, but blue, red and gold Yoshies are known to exist. Its very difficult to tell what gender any particular Yoshie is at first site since both male and females look identical and can lay eggs. But eggs laid by males are infertile and will not hatch. Sciences believe that this is some kind of weird biological quirk left over from their dinosaur origins. Yoshies have the amazing ability to eat and digest just about anything smaller than they are.
Relations
Yoshies get along well with humans, toadstools, and will allow close friends to ride them as a steed. They also love shyguys, and koopas and consider them both fantastic delicacies. This has lead both shyguys and koopas to distrust Yoshies, though those that can control their hunger can become good friends.

Adventures
Stats
Improved Grab (Ex)
To use this ability, a Yoshie must hit an opponent of up to one size smaller with its slam attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can try to swallow the foe the following round.
Swallow Whole (Ex)
A Yoshie can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of up to two sizes smaller by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature takes 2d8+8 points of bludgeoning damage and 8 points of acid damage per round from the Yoshie’s gizzard. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the gizzard (AC 12). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out.
Egg trap (EX)
After swallowing a creature a Yoshie can choose to encase the victim in an egg and expel at will. The victim can attempt to make a strength check (dc 15) to break free, if a victim doesn’t he begins suffocating as per the suffocation rules listed on page 304 of the Dungeon Master’s guide*
Game rules information
* Suffocation
A character who has no air to breathe can hold her breath for 2 rounds per point of Constitution. After this period of time, the character must make a DC 10 Constitution check in order to continue holding her breath. The save must be repeated each round, with the DC increasing by +1 for each previous success.
When the character fails one of these Constitution checks, she begins to suffocate. In the first round, she falls unconscious (0 hit points). In the following round, she drops to -1 hit points and is dying. In the third round, she suffocates
